How Long Do Vape Pods Last? Signs It's Time to Replace Your Pod

✨ AI Summary: Prefilled IVG pods, including PRO and NEXiO, have no fixed lifespan. It all depends on how you vape. This guide covers puff counts, what wears a pod out faster and the signs it's time to replace yours, from burnt taste to fading flavour.

How long do vape pods last? With prefilled pods, it depends on the pod size and how often you vape. Vapers can get up to 10,000 puffs from a PRO 10K pod. The pod usually tells you when it's finished: the flavour fades, or a burnt taste appears out of nowhere.

What Is a Prefilled Pod?

A prefilled pod arrives sealed with e-liquid already inside. You don't pour anything in, and you can't refill it yourself. When it's finished, you replace it.

IVG PRO, PRO 2, NEXiO and SMART MAX all use prefilled pods. Each one comes in two parts: a small prefilled pod and a sealed e-liquid container. You click them together, fit them into the device, and the container tops the pod up automatically as you vape. Some IVG pods are labelled "refill pods". That refers to this container, not to refilling by hand.

On PRO, NEXiO and SMART MAX, the coil is built into the pod, so replacing the pod replaces the coil too. IVG 2400 works differently, with four separate 2ml prefilled pods that you use and replace one at a time.

In this guide, "pod" means the complete pod you replace.

How Long Do Prefilled Pods Last?

Puff counts are the best starting point, but they are maximums, not promises:

  • IVG PRO 10K pod: up to 10,000 puffs from 12ml of e-liquid.
  • IVG PRO 5K pod: up to 5,000 puffs from 6ml, so it runs out sooner.
  • IVG NEXiO pod: up to 10,000 puffs from 10ml.
  • IVG SMART MAX pod: up to 10,000 puffs from 12ml.

Vape more often, or take longer, harder puffs, and you'll get through a pod faster. Vape lightly and it will last longer. Your own experience matters more than the day count, so watch for the signs below.

What Wears a Pod Out Faster?

A few habits make a real difference:

  • Chain vaping. Fast, back-to-back puffs give the wick less time to soak up e-liquid, so it can dry out and burn.
  • Vaping to the last drops. Once the liquid runs out, the coil can end up heating dry cotton.
  • Sweet flavours. Thicker, sugary e-liquids can leave more residue on the coil over time.
  • Heat. A device left in a hot car or direct sunlight can leak or wear a pod out sooner.

Signs It's Time to Replace Your Pod

Your pod usually warns you before it stops working completely:

  • A burnt or harsh taste. This is the clearest sign the coil has scorched, and it won't recover.
  • Flat or dull flavour. The same flavour tastes duller than when the pod was new. Replace the pod once the flavour starts to fade.
  • Less vapour than usual. Charge the device first to rule out the battery, then look at the pod.
  • The liquid has run out. With nothing left to feed the coil, keep puffing, and it will burn.
  • Gurgling, spitting, or leaking. Check first that the pod is fully clicked into its container, all seals are removed, and the device has been stored upright. If it carries on, replace the pod or contact IVG support.
  • Darker e-liquid than when the pod was new can point to an old pod too, though it isn't a sure sign on its own.

Getting More Out of Each Pod

  • Leave a short gap between puffs and keep them slow and gentle.
  • Click the pod and container together fully, and remove all seals before first use.
  • Store your device upright and out of the heat.
  • Swap the pod when the flavour first fades, before the burnt taste sets in.

Replacing IVG PRO and Other IVG Prefilled Pods

IVG PRO is IVG's flagship prefilled pod system, so it's the clearest example. When a pod is finished, click in a new one. There is no coil to change and nothing to refill.

In Short

There's no fixed lifespan for a prefilled pod. It all comes down to how you vape and your own taste is the best guide. When the flavour fades or turns burnt, swap the whole pod and carry on.

Flavour fading? Your next pod's a click away.

Frequently asked questions

Empty means the liquid has run out. Worn out means the taste turned burnt or flat before it did. Either way, replace the whole pod.

No. IVG PRO pods aren't designed to be refilled by hand. Once the liquid is used up, you replace the pod.

Not on PRO. The coil is built into the pod, so there's nothing to change or prime.

It holds twice the e-liquid, 12ml against 6ml, but puff counts are maximums. How long it lasts depends on how you vape.

Refillable pods are filled by hand from a bottle of e-liquid. Prefilled pods come sealed and are replaced when finished, which is how IVG PRO and NEXiO work.
