Why haven’t our prices changed? Vape duty explained
✨ AI Summary: Vaping Products Duty started in the UK on 1 October 2026, but it doesn’t apply to eligible stock already on the market before then. This blog explains why prices on our website haven’t changed yet, why prices may differ between retailers for a while, and what happens next.
The new Vaping Products Duty came into force in the UK on 1 October 2026.
Since then, some of our customers have asked why prices on the IVG website look the same.
The short answer is that the duty depends on when stock enters the UK market, and the products we’re selling now entered the market before the duty started.
The duty in brief
Vaping Products Duty is charged at £2.20 per 10ml of vaping liquid, with or without nicotine.
It applies to products made in, or imported into, the UK from 1 October 2026, and those products carry a duty stamp on the packaging.

Why haven’t our prices gone up yet?
The duty isn’t charged on eligible stock that was already on the market before 1 October 2026.
HMRC has set a transition period that lets retailers keep selling this stock without a duty stamp until 31 March 2027.
The products currently listed on our website are eligible stock under these rules, so their prices remain as they were before 1 October 2026.

Why might prices differ between retailers?
During the transition, one retailer may still be selling older stock while another has moved to new duty-paid stock.
That means the same or similar products can be priced differently for a while. Our guide explains why prices might differ.
What happens next?
Over the coming months, duty-stamped products will gradually replace older stock. From 1 April 2027, every vaping product sold in the UK must carry a valid duty stamp.
As our stock moves to duty-paid products, we’ll review our prices.
The price shown at checkout is always the price you pay. We’ll keep this page updated as things change.
