A Quick Guide To Vaping Devices

A Beginners Guide

If you have seen young adults with tech-y gadgets with which they smoke, then you must have lots of questions. This phenomenon is a modern form of smoking, called vaping. Vaping uses cutting-edge gadgets to provide the smoker with a customized experience, offering a variety of e-liquid flavors.

Whether you’re just curious or want to switch to e-cigarettes, we’ll explain everything that you need to know about. It can all sound confusing when you hear new terminologies being thrown around here and there. So, in this article, we’ll break down the vaping system and provide you with a quick guide on vaping devices. From a smoke pod system to vaping mods, we’ll cover it all. However, before we go into the devices, let’s first learn more about what vaping really is. Let’s dive right in!

What is vaping?

Simply put, vaping is the modern alternative to smoking regular cigarettes. When a person vapes, they inhale a nicotine-infused vapor from an “e-liquid”, also known as e juice. An electronic device heats up the e-liquid and creates a vapor that the user inhales.

There are a variety of vaping devices and accessories that come in all sorts of sizes, styles, and formats, which include mods and e-cigs.  Each of these devices is made of a heating element, battery wicking material, and a tank for holding the liquid. The device functions when the wicking material wraps around a heating coil and absorbs the e-liquid. When the user presses the power button, it produces a vapor.

What Are The Different Vaping Options?

There are multiple vaping formats that you can try out. They are divided into the following four main categories:

  • Pen-style mods
  • Box-style mods
  • Pod devices

Let’s learn about each of these formats in further detail below!

Pen Style Mods:

Pen-style mods are one of the most commonly seen among young people. They look larger than regular cigarettes and e-cigs. They come with a pick-and-mix component that you can swap around, so you can easily change the tank, heating coil, and other components for a more personalized experience.

Pen mods are more powerful and popular than disposable e-cigs. They produce more vapor and last longer. Pen-style mods are mostly rechargeable with the help of a USB cable. Some models also have the option of using disposable batteries.

  • Higher vaping power.
  • Customization options.
  • Longer battery life.
  • More expensive than disposable e-cigs.
  • Not as powerful as a box mod.
  • Require regular maintenance.

Box-Style Mods:

Box-style mods are also highly customizable as you can use a variety of interchangeable components. They are even bigger than pen-style mods and much more powerful. Their battery capacity is larger, with space for interior wiring. These mods come with in-built displays of wattage, temperature, and other kinds of performance metrics.

You can select any type of coil or tank as per your preferences. Box-style mods are much more powerful than other formats of mods and e-cigs. They come with the latest features such as power autoregulation and vapor production without your intervention.

  • Higher power.
  • Increased production of vapor.
  • Advanced gadgets and integration of software that allows more personalization of the vaping experience.
  • Requires regular maintenance and replacement of parts.
  • Advanced features need time to get used to.
