Trying to keep up with the latest vaping-related lingo can be tough, especially with so many young people talking about it. If you're curious about what they're saying, here's a list of common words, phrases, products, and general language used when talking about vaping and e-cigarettes. This will help you understand the conversations happening around you and the slang used by young people in relation to vaping.

Blanks: Blanks are empty vape cartridges that do not contain any e-liquid or concentrate. They are designed to be filled with e-liquid before use.
Cartridge: A cartridge, in the context of vaping, refers to a pre-filled container that holds e-liquid. It typically includes a mouthpiece and a heating element or coil to vaporize the contents when connected to a compatible vaping device.
Clouds: Clouds, also known as vapor clouds, are the visible plumes of vapor produced when exhaling from a vaping device. The term is often used to describe the size, density, and thickness of the vapor produced.
Clone: In the vaping community, a clone refers to a replica or imitation of a popular or high-end vaping device or atomizer. Clones are typically produced by other manufacturers and are designed to resemble the original product but may not have the same build quality or performance.
EVALI: EVALI stands for e-cigarette or vaping product use-associated lung injury. It refers to a condition that emerged in 2019, primarily affecting individuals who used e-cigarettes or vaping products. EVALI is characterized by symptoms such as cough, shortness of breath, chest pain, fever, and gastrointestinal issues.
Fiend: In the vaping context, a fiend is a slang term used to describe someone who frequently or excessively vapes. It implies a strong desire or craving for vaping.
Ghost: Ghosting, in vaping, refers to the technique of exhaling vapor without producing a visible cloud. It involves holding the vapor in the lungs for a longer duration before exhaling, minimizing the vapor released and leaving little to no visible trace. This technique is often used by vapers who want to be discreet or minimize the visibility of their vaping.
E-liquid, Juice, Liquid, E-juice: E-liquid, also known as vape juice or vape liquid, is a solution used in electronic cigarettes or vaping devices. It typically contains a mixture of propylene glycol (PG), vegetable glycerin (VG), flavorings, and nicotine (although nicotine-free options are also available). When heated, the e-liquid vaporizes and is inhaled by the user.
Hit: Hit refers to the act of inhaling vapor from a vaping device. It can also refer to the sensation felt when inhaling the vapor.
Rip: Rip is a slang term used to describe taking a puff or inhaling from a vaping device.
Draw: Draw refers to the action of pulling or inhaling vapor from a vaping device. It is similar to taking a puff.
Tax: In vaping slang, "tax" refers to sharing or taking a hit from someone else's vaping device. It's a term used to ask for or offer to use someone else's device.
Greening: Greening refers to a slang term used to describe the feeling of nausea, dizziness, or lightheadedness that can occur after consuming excessive amounts of nicotine.
Milligrams: Milligrams (mg) is a unit of measurement used to indicate the concentration of nicotine or other substances in e-liquids. It represents the amount of a substance present per milliliter of liquid.
Milliliter: Milliliter (ml) is a unit of measurement used to quantify the volume of e-liquid contained in a vape cartridge, bottle, or tank.
Mint Gang, Mango Gang: "Mint Gang" and "Mango Gang" are slang terms that were used to refer to fans or users of specific flavors offered by popular vaping brands. These terms gained popularity on social media platforms.
Nic: "Nic" is a shortened form of "nicotine" and is often used informally when referring to nicotine-containing e-liquids or vaping in general.

Tank: A tank, in the context of vaping, refers to the component of a vaping device that holds the e-liquid. It is typically a refillable reservoir that connects to the atomizer or coil, allowing the e-liquid to be heated and vaporized.
Throat Hit/Kick: Throat hit or throat kick refers to the sensation experienced at the back of the throat when inhaling vapor from a vaping device. It is often associated with the feeling of slight irritation or a satisfying "kick" that some vapers seek, particularly when using e-liquids with nicotine.
Vape Nation: "Vape Nation" is a term or phrase often used colloquially to refer to the vaping community or subculture. It is sometimes used humorously or ironically in memes and online content related to vaping.
Vapor Tongue: Vapor tongue, also known as vaper's tongue, is a phenomenon where a vaper experiences a temporary loss or reduction in its ability to taste flavors properly. It can occur due to prolonged exposure to a particular flavor or flavors, resulting in a diminished ability to perceive the taste. This condition is typically temporary and can be resolved by taking a break from vaping or trying different flavors.
Zero/Stealth Mode: Zero or stealth mode refers to a feature available in some vaping devices that allow users to disable or reduce the visibility of the device's lights, sounds, or vapor production. It is often used to minimize attention or be more discreet when vaping.
Zyn: Zyn is a brand of nicotine pouches. Nicotine pouches are small, smokeless, and spitless pouches that contain nicotine and are designed to be placed between the lip and gum for oral use. They are different from traditional vaping devices as they do not involve the inhalation of vapor.
